Doja Cat fan attempts to skip concert queue with bomb threat
The Indianapolis man “exercised very poor judgement” according to police
A man has been arrested after allegedly faking a bomb threat at a free outdoor concert in Indianapolis on Saturday, headlined by Doja Cat.
The fan reportedly told those around him in the queue that he had a bomb stashed in his bag in an attempt to jump the line, according to The Indianapolis Star.
The crowd, which gathered outside the event in Monument Circle, was dispersed for around 20 minutes while police investigated just before 5:PM.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer William Young also told the Indy Star that the man is currently in custody and didn’t pose a threat to the concert or community.
“A fan wanted to advance in line so he exercised very poor judgment and told those around him in line he had a bomb in his backpack," said Deputy Chief Joshua Barker.
"Someone did the right thing and alerted IMPD. The backpack was clean,” he continued. Over on Twitter, the IMPD official page also posted a statement.
According to police, the Doja Cat fan also had other warrants out for his arrest. “The man had unrelated outstanding warrants and was immediately arrested for those. He is currently in police custody,” the department posted on Twitter.

The concert went ahead on Saturday night despite the threat after the man was cleared. “Police believe there is no active threat and the investigation is ongoing. Tonight’s activities and concert for CFP will continue as planned,” the IMPD added.
Thousands of fans congregated on Saturday for the outdoor event in support of the College Football Playoff national championship, with activities including concerts, light shows, and more.
Just days before the event, FOX59 reported that the festivities surrounding the event could cause a ‘super spreader’ effect on the community with a likely increase to COVID cases, according to experts.
