Singer invited to see "other side of Ibiza" due to his track's negative connotations

Mike Posner's 'I Took A Pill In Ibiza' hasn't gone down well with the authorities

A singer has pissed off the Ibiza authorities so much with a track title, he's been invited over for to see what the island's like away from partying.

The White Isle's tourist office isn't happy with the way Mike Posner's depicted the island on 'I Took A Pill In Ibiza', especially with a remix - and video - by Norwegian duo Seeb clocking over 61 million views on YouTube. It probably doesn't help that the visuals depict a papier mâché-headed raver, looking off his face, helping someone be sick and getting jiggy in the toilets, either.

Just as the planned-but-canned MTV show Ibiza Shore threatened, tourism officials believe the tune and vid provide a nasty insight into Ibiza. As such, the island's tourism director has invited Posner to see what else is on offer asides from the nightlife.

Vicent Ferrer said: “We have invited the author of this song to discover Ibiza because we have much more to offer besides the nightlife which is known worldwide.

“We have museums, beaches, culture, gastronomy, we have a wide offer but unfortunately we have been typecast this way. Unfortunately someone who wants to consume pills or alcohol can be found in any tourist destination, the fact that it is only us who are pigeonholed does not seem fair.”

We agree with everything Vicent says, but 'Beefa' just wouldn't be the same without the dancers, its DJ heroes or the afterparties.
