Shazam rolls out new feature so you can see what artists are identifying

The company hopes it'll make the app more sociable

You can now see what tunes artists are Shazaming.

Shazam announced a new feature yesterday which will allow app users to follow artists and see what tracks they're feeling. The reason for the addition is to keep people in the app for longer, rather than getting the track and leaving, to increase revenues through advertising.

You won't be able to see absolutely everything artists are sharing though, as they have the choice of sharing their tunes, which users can 'like' if they wish.

Alicia Keys is among the 30 musicians who will be verified for the launch of the new service today, with another 100 lined up to be given official verification.

Shazam's Chief Product Officer Daniel Danker said: "I want every single artist on Shazam to be verified. I want every artist to be reaching their fans in this way."
