Seth Troxler to feed the homeless at ADE

Troxler will be cooking a three-course meal for 75 people in an Amsterdam shelter

Seth Troxler is linking up with 10,000 HOURS, ADE and De Regenboog Group to provide a three-course meal for 75 homeless people in the Dutch capital on October 14.

"People shouldn't be hungry," declared the Tuskegee boss.

Chef Troxler is well known for his cooking prowess. He opened American BBQ-themed pop-up restaurant Smokey Tails in Hackney Wick along with Visionquest co-head Ryan Crosson in 2013, and won the ADE DJ Cook Off competition three years running.

Troxler took aim at conservative politics for the problem of poverty in an interview with ADE: "The Conservative kind of nature is not to help everyone, so everyone is kind of on their own.

"It's a systematic placement of creating the poor, the rich and the divide. There is more than enough space, money and food to house and feed everyone. But you have to make that change."

While festivals are often characterised by decadence and excess, Troxler is heading an important reminder of those in need. He added: "It's nice to do something that's worth a damn. Everywhere I go in the world the cornerstone of every culture is sitting down and having a meal. So to feed people is essentially the one thing that makes us all exactly human."

In further Troxler charity news, the red dress he wore at Fabric's 14th birthday is up for auction with the money raised going to British homeless charity Shelter. Bidding has started at 99p on eBay.
