Seth Troxler curates a LaForge art exhibit depicting Homer's 'The Odyssey'
The showcase will mark NYC artist Scooter LaForge's London debut
Seth Troxler will be curating visual artist Scooter LaForge's London debut later this month at Shoreditch's Jealous Gallery.
The special showcase titled The Odyssey will present paintings and prints by LaForge, a visual portrayal of the famed Greek epic by Homer.
Troxler's relationship with New York's Scooter LaForge started in 2013 when he saw the artist's work at Patricia Field's ARTFASHION gallery. Through the years Seth's "obsession" with his "favourite living artist" grew exponentially and he now exclusively wears LaForge's work when he performs.
"For me, his work embodied surprise, intrigue, desire and confusion. It was everything to me. It was the visual embodiment of what I wanted to express as a DJ, presenter of ideas and musical artist."
Along with themes of Greek mythology, Scooter will bring pieces inspired by the 1980s New York LGBT scene to The Odyssey exhibition.
As a long time art enthusiast, Troxler's curation at Jealous Gallery follows his previous ventures with Parisian street artist Thierry Noir, Iranian surrealist Medhi Ghadlanyoo and his immersive Art Bar installation with Absolut in Ibiza.
Scooter LaForge will debut in London at Shoreditch's Jealous Gallery on March 22.
