Sept announces 'Opus', bridging between music and painting

It marks a return to his classic techno roots, intending to "get the listener to focus on the music, in the same way that paintings are contemplated"

Polish DJ and producer Sept has announced his new project OPUS, combining classic techno with painting, and announced lead EP 'Timeless Exploration' (pictured) set for release at the end of May.

The release marks a shift in his sonic identity away from hard techno to his original love of classic techno, too. Following having his laptop stolen last year - which had a number of harder techno track ideas on it - and already feeling disillusioned with the scene, Sept took the sign to return to his roots.

OPUS was thus born, a collaborative platform headed by Sept plus fellow creatives Surrollie (who creates paintings inspired by the music) and Rudeboy, for musicians and visual artists. The latter even have opportunities to have their art presented at selected techno events.

OPUS is a fusion of visual brilliance and pulsating beats that transcends the boundaries of traditional experiences. This emerging project is the epitome of synergy between art and electronic music, where every stroke of the brush and every sonic pulse are meticulously orchestrated to create an immersive journey.

"OPUS invites you to step into a world where each note resonates with the vibrant strokes of artistic expression. Join us in this extraordinary celebration of the interconnected realms of art and electronic music, where every moment turns into piece of art.

"'Tik-Tokization’ of content to get the viewer interested just for five seconds, or the idea of a ‘catchy tune and a fast tempo’ is not a good thing. My intention is to get the listener to focus on the music, in the same way that paintings are contemplated at a vernissage [exhibition]. Music and art are about dedicated reception, not just ‘come and go’.”

'Timeless Exploration' EP, the first release via OPUS set for release at the end of the month, is centred around encouraging a deeper level of reflection amongst listeners, to entirely focus on the music. It hinges on the concept of how trends pass, yet timeless things remain pivotal. You can pre-order it here and check out lead track 'Constant Movement' now.
