See inside Berghain and Kit Kat Club through the eyes of this illustrator

Berlin’s dancefloors are famed for their vibrancy and diversity. They’re camera-free zones where people are liberated to let loose without fear of a compromising photo coming back to haunt them.

We’d usually say they have to be experienced to be believed, but artist Felix Scheinberger has illustrated a series of watercolours that bring the colourful crowds found on the German capital’s most private dancefloors to life.

Berghain, Kit Kat Club and Insomnia feature among his chosen subjects, with the paintings including people dressed in dog muzzle gimp suits and perched invitingly over bar stools. They’re stylistically haywire, perfectly capturing the chaos of the depicted clubs better than any 1080p DSLR could dream to. Check out the gallery above for some examples.
