Secretsundaze launches new label 9FINITY, announces debut V/A

There's an accompanying launch party at London's Pickle Factory next month

Secretsundaze has entered a new chapter this week, shifting into a more club-focused lane by launching its new imprint 9FINITY.

The new arm of Secretsundaze is promised to share "no-nonsense, discerning dance records from artists at the vanguard of modern club music".

Alongside the label announcement came the news of its first release - a vinyl-only V/A, '9FINITY001' - set for release on September 19. Eoin DJ, DJ Life, Luca Attanasio, Coffintexts and E-Talking are brought together across five tracks (plus a digital bonus), which span sounds of cosmic house, deft bass, wobbly tech-house, techno-leaning notes and shimmering trance elements.

"I’m super excited to be launching this new label which is direct, floor focused and represents and explores some of the sounds I'm enjoying playing out these days,” Secretsundaze tells Mixmag. “Launching with a V/A was a natural way to quickly welcome into the fold an array of often fairly emerging, but all very sick bunch of artists that I wanted to champion and be proud to work with.”

He added on Instagram: “Stemming from my daughter Ludo’s toddler-speak of ‘9FINITY’ to define something massive or huge, the label aims to run with this descriptor through no-nonsense, discerning dance records from artists at the vanguard of modern club music.

"We’ll let the music do the talking for now but safe to say these are some of my favourite artists around, making some incredible music and carving out sounds that are truly theirs."

In celebration of the new chapter, a 9FINITY launch party is set to take place at London's Pickle Factory on September 28. Alongside Secretsundaze, E-Talking and Lora Mipsum are on DJ duties, and you can grab tickets here.

For those who can't make the party - or are keen to embrace the new Secretsundaze chapter further - 9FINITY has also launched an online series, 'A Beyond Mix'. With the first instalment crafted by now sole-leader of Secretsundaze James Priestley (pictured), it is promised to showcase "exclusive set" from artists within and around the Secretsundaze community.
