Scalping sign to Houndstooth and get into 'Deadlock' on new single

The single release hints at further material incoming from the band

Bristol-based Scalping this week released their latest single ‘Deadlock’ and announced their signing to Houndstooth.

The group have made their name with their brash live techno sound created with a full band outfit. Live, they’re electric, channeling the off-kilter spirit of Bristol dance music.

‘Deadlock’ is a nod to the deadlock that 2020 has been for the music industry, and encapsulates the frustration and restlessness that this has created for musicians. According to the band, ‘Deadlock’ has formed a part of their live sets for a while now, and “it’s always a highlight; it’s fierce, relentless and gets a great reaction whenever we play it.”

Scalping now join a roster of artists that includes Lotic, Aisha Devi and Special Request. Houndstooth co-founders Rob Butterworth and Rob Booth have commented on the new singing, saying, “Scalping are the most exciting new band on the plant. We couldn’t be happier that they’ve signed to Houndstooth.”
