Sainsbury's reckons it retails the most vinyl in the UK

It started selling wax back in March

Having introduced vinyl to its stores in March, Sainsbury's is now claiming it is the UK's biggest retailer of physical records.

According to the company's first quarter results, it holds an eight per cent market share of vinyl.

Obviously this data only covers the supermarket chain, so it is not official that it sits at the top of the UK's vinyl-retailing league.

The supermarket chain had, however, performed way above its initial target when sales started almost three months ago, but also received criticism from many in the music industry.
