Sabrina Bellaouel explores astrology and sensuality on new EP 'Libra'

It’s a stunning exploration of experimental electronic RnB

French-Algerian artist Sabrina Bellaouel this week released her latest EP ‘Libra’ via InFiné.

Using spoken samples in the style of Lauryn Hill, scattering breakbeats and softly sung vocals, Sabrina Bellaouel explores the intersections of spirituality, astrology and sensuality.

‘Arab Liquor’ came from remembering the Saudi, Iraqi and Pakistani women customers Bellaouel used to serve at a London shisha bar; ‘Solar Return’ finishes off with a voice message that she left for someone after an argument. Both intensely personal and highly relatable, ‘Libra’ is a celebration of complexities.

‘Libra’ will be Sabrina Bellaouel’s second release of 2020, following her EP ‘We Don’t Need to be Enemies’.
