Rush Hour relocates its Amsterdam store
The move is being marked with a three-day party in April
Amsterdam’s celebrated Rush Hour record store is moving to larger premises at Spuistraat 116, just up the road from current spot Spuistraat 97 where the shop has resided for the past 17 years.
The new location will allow a greater number of new and second-hand records to be stocked and sold.
Rush Hour is marking the opening of the new shopfront with a three-day celebration from April 8 to 10 at the Dutch capital’s OT301 venue. A number of top selectors such as Interstellar Funk, Mick Wills, Sadar Bahar and Robert Bergman are set to play, while live performances will come from Beau Wanzer and Dego and the 2000Black live band.
Speaking about the move, Rush Hour co-founder Antal said: "We wanted to move for a while, but it wasn't easy to find something suitable. We even checked for buildings in the outskirts.
“To find such a beautiful space in the same street is quite unreal to us. The new home opens in April. It all happened pretty fast… I can't wait until the opening, to party with our friends and artists to celebrate this next step."
