Rough Trade to open biggest UK store in Liverpool

Located on Hanover Street, the new store will include a dedicated venue space with a bar, cafe and draught beers

Rough Trade has announced it will be opening a new store in Liverpool, set to be the biggest in the UK.

This will be the record retailers sixth store, joining locations in Bristol, Nottingham and three in London.

Located on Hanover Street, Liverpool’s Rough Trade’ is set to be an include a dedicated venue space and span 6500 square feet, making it the biggest UK store to date.

Working in partnership with Signature Brew and Dark Arts, the store will feature a bar and cafe with a range of draught beers.

The store is also partnering with three-day festival Sound City Liverpool for 2024 as well as with ticketing service DICE for events.

An opening date is yet to be announced however it is predicted that the Liverpool store will open early this year.

In a statement on Rough Trade’s website it says: "We are thrilled to become a part of such a dynamic city that is rich in musical heritage and we look forward to contributing to a lively and exciting community of music fans."

Lawrence Montgomery, Managing Director at Rough Trade says: "We are excited to grow our UK presence with a store in Liverpool. The city has such a rich musical heritage as well as a vibrant scene right now which we hope to honour and represent in the best way we can."

He continues: "The scale (both size and ambition) of the store shows our commitment and investment to the city. We can’t wait to delight customers in the record store and venue in due course."

Currently, Rough Trade Liverpool are recruiting with roles including General Manager, Assistant Manager, Bar and Events Manager, Bar and Events Supervisor, Retail Supervisor, as well as Sales and Bar and Events Assistants. Apply here.
