Roe Deers

Time for some heat, direct from Lithuania

Whenever something marked 'Omnidisc' lands in our inbox, we get that flutter of excitement a child gets when they're about to open a present they know will blow their minds.

When the imprint launched, we didn't know who was responsible for curating such an eclectic mix of electro and techno but when it was revealed that Danny Daze was in charge, it all made sense to us, such perfect sense.

We've been treated to EPs from Cliff Lothar, Drvg Cvltvre and Dean Grenier and there's even been a sub-label launched called Swim Series that puts a spotlight on the smoother, more accessible sounds, like the new one from Dimitri Veimar.

So if Omindisc is the platform for the heavy shit and Swim caters for the soft and subtle then what's in the middle? Enter the Polyester Series, another sub-division that's far more rough around the edges but still gives a home to newer, fresher artists.

The debut release on Polyester is from Lithuanian-duo Roe Deers and their intelligent, unpredictable sound has been channeled in the 'Rush' EP. The title track is a low-tempo destroyer and although the pace is lowered, the pair make up for it with a serious amount of voodoo dread. It's dark, devilish and premiering right here, right now.

The 'Rush' EP will be released on August 26 via Omnidisc Polyester Series
