Rinse pulls Azealia Banks from Born & Bred Festival
Racist and homophobic comments led to the removal
Rinse FM has cancelled Azealia Banks' headline slot at Born & Bred Festival following racial slurs from the artist on Twitter.
Banks was due to perform on June 5, but the London radio station and promoter announced earlier today that she'd no longer be playing as a result of her derogatory remarks about Zayn Malik.
The beef with former One Direction singer Malik started after Banks said he'd plagiarised parts of her 'Chasing Time' video, going on to call him a "curry scented bitch". She then unleashed a slew of racial and homophobic comments on Twitter, as well as saying UK rap has nothing on its US counterpart.
Born & Bred's announcement seemed to encourage her even further, saying "most of the people coming to this on my day were only coming for me".
It's still ongoing so head to her Twitter to see everything she's saying.
Born & Bred takes place in east London on June 4 and 5, featuring Novelist, Calibre, Josey Rebelle, Laurel Halo and more.
