Review into Sydney's lockout laws releases findings
The restrictions could be relaxed slightly if the government takes the report on board
The recommendations from the review into Sydney's lockout laws have been released.
Former High Court Judge Ian Callinan wrote in his official report the 1.30am lockout could be pushed back until 2am, and 3am last drinks to 3.30am, at live entertainment venues in central Sydney over a two year trial period to reinstate some vibrancy at night.
It is not clear whether nightclubs would be deemed "live entertainment venues" and the New South Wales State Government may decide not to act on any of the recommendations made.
The report also suggests the statewide 10pm curfew on the sale of takeaway alcohol be pushed back to 11pm.
The government, which introduced the laws in February 2014, has said it will respond to the report by the end of the year.
