Redders

Attitude-fueled skanker produced by Gorgon Sound

If you're familiar with Critical Music, then it's likely you'll have heard of Bristol-based MC Redders.

There's not much solo work from the former London resident but he's had plenty of collaborations to demonstrate his wicked, growling prowess on the mic. The best yet may well be his input on Sam Binga's 'Wasted Days' album last year, jumping on 'Believe', 'Pound 4 Pound' and 'Badman Skin'.

Unsurprisingly, the Critical team were so impressed with him, he's been snapped up for his debut EP as part of the label's Systems project. He's in decent company on the the 'Redders' EP, with Hyroglifics, Gorgon Sound, Sam Binga and Moresounds on production and remix duties and MC DRS helming the only other vocal spot.

Kahn & Neek's Gorgon Sound project consistently delivers the crispiest of dub, the type of tunes that sound best on a towering soundsystem at Notting Hill Carnival or Outlook Festival in Croatia. This time they serve up a fierce skanker in '96 In One', providing the platform for Redders to unleash a flurry of attitude-fueled bars. Expect to hear a lot more from him before the year's out.

The 'Redders' EP is out via Critical Music on July 8. Buy it here
