Red Bull Music Academy unveils 2016 lineup

One month of quality acts

Red Bull Music Academy has just shared their 2016 roster, and it’s amazing.

In its fourth consecutive year in New York City, the month-long festival - running from April 29 - May 22 - has enlisted names as far reaching as Dizzee Rascal, free jazz legend Pharoah Sanders and Future-producer Metro Boomin’. In an epic crossover event, The Bunker and Dekmantel have teamed up to host Juju & Jordash, Joey Anderson, RBMA alumni Palmtrax and more. Mark Pritchard will perform his forthcoming album ‘Under the Sun’ with visual artist Jonathan Zawada; while Anohni will premiere her live set at the Park Avenue Armory.

In partnership with the New Museum, members of the NON and N.A.A.F.I. collectives will be showcased alongside a crew that includes Tri Angle-signee Rabit and sound collagist Elysia Crampton. If that wasn’t enough, the party night Technopolis will celebrate current talent in the Brooklyn scene with Umfang and Volvox (of Discwoman), Planet Mu-signee Ital and Aurora Halal among others.

The festival is also rounded out with Last Night A DJ Saved My Soul, an event named after the infamous RBMA Daily article. Taking on a transcendental bent, the party features DJs and producers who hail from the future forward Detroit narrative like Floorplan and acid house pioneer DJ Pierre as well as those who explore the deep connection between house and gospel.

Red Bull Music Academy has been a staple in music culture for a number of years, throwing festivals, workshops and operating as an archival project of the under seen. Tickets go on sale on March 24 and the full lineup can be seen here.
