Book on Roland's synths and drum machines is coming out next week

Interviews with Jeff Mills, Plastikman, Mathew Jonson and Legowelt feature

The history of Roland's classic instruments is about to be released as a book.

R Is For Roland comes out on May 11 via Electronic Beats and details a number of the company's famous hardware, from the TR-808 drum machine, used by the likes of Derrick Carter, to the Jupiter-8 synth that's appeared in tunes by Josh Wink, Stevie Wonder and Moby.

While portraits of each pieces are included, there's exclusive interviews with Jeff Mills, Legowelt, Plastikman and Mathew Jonson. Words also come from Michael Matlak, the German musician behind The Analog Roland Orchestra, and Florian Anwander.
