Randomer shares remix of Voin Oruwu’s ‘Identify’ with proceeds going to Ukraine aid

All proceeds from the release will go toward UNICEF and Ukrainian volunteer group AIDx10

British DJ and producer Randomer has shared his highly-anticipated rework of Voin Oruwu’s 2020 track ‘Identify’, with all proceeds going to Ukrainian charities.

The remix landed on Wednesday, March 20, more than three years on from the original release. The track reworks the renowned Kyiv anthem, which has circulated clubs in the Ukrainian capital for years.

“In late 2021 I was asked for my take on the iconic Kyiv anthem Voin Oruwu ‘Identify’,” Randomer said on Instagram last week. “I spent much of the time making it in Kyiv itself, and finished the remix there on the 23rd Feb 2022.”

“The next morning me and my partner woke up to the sound of Russian bombs signalling the start of the full-scale war,” he said. “Until now, for various reasons the remix was unreleased.”

The track was originally released as part of an eight-track compilation from Standard Deviation, the in-house label of Kyiv club ∄ (K41). The V/A, titled ‘Intermission’, also came alongside a 75-page book featuring interviews with Ukrainian artists.

The original track from Voin Oruwu - also known as Koloah - was premiered by Mixmag in December 2020, and featured on the Standard Deviation compilation as part of ∄’s first birthday celebrations.

All proceeds from Randomer’s remix will go toward UNICEF and AIDx10, a Ukrainian volunteer group dedicated to “amplifying frontline aid and resilience”.

The remix has so far received early support from the likes of Mama Snake, Anetha, ØTTA, and Pawlowski. Check out the track and artwork below, and purchase it here.
