Radar Radio turns 3 with DJ Lag and Suspect
Three parties, three venues, three years
Radar Radio will celebrate its third birthday with a trio of events across October and November representing the station's varied output.
The station has been pivotal in driving new artists making grime, afro-swing, bashment and dancehall into the mainstream.
On October 26 the London-based radio station will take over Pickle Factory for an experimental showcase featuring South Africa’s DJ Lag (pictured), Blackest Ever Black’s Yally and Hyperdub’s Endgame among others.
On October 31 the station will make its first appearance at the intimate East Bloc venue for a free entry, RSVP-only showcase featuring Ikonika b2b Scratcha DVA, Tash LC b2b Moleskin and Bok Bok b2b Girl Unit just to name a few.
The third of Radar’s three birthday events will be a takeover of East London’s Mangle E8 on November 3 in celebration of contemporary UK music. Suspect, Lisa Mercedez, Kenny Allstar, P Montana and Sir DJ Corey will join residents like Amy Becker and Jossy Mitsu.
