Pulse Nightclub is building a permanent memorial for victims of the shooting
In memorial to the lives that were lost
On June 12, the dancefloor of Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida became the site of the worst mass shooting in American history.
Now, a little over a month later, non-profit company OnePulse Foundation has filed documents to install a permanent memorial at the venue in memory of the 49 lives lost.
Just days after the shooting, owner of the club Barbara Poma expressed her interest in building some sort of memorial. On July 7, Poma formed OnePulse with the goal to see through the "conceiving, funding and construction of a permanent memorial on the existing Pulse site".
The Orlando club has not yet announced whether or not it will reopen.
