Property developers have bought three miles of Ibiza beachfront
"Luxury seafront developments" are the proposed plans in Cala Bassa, Cala Conta and Es Penyal
Nowhere is safe from luxury apartments these days it seems. Property developers and real estate investors the Reuben Brothers have acquired three miles of Ibiza beachfront.
Their €25 million purchase spans from Cala Bassa, about six miles southwest of San Antonio, to Cala Conta, where restaurant and bar Sunset Ashram, now theirs, is located. The Es Penyal area is also part of the deal.
The Gallart Sans family were originally given permission by Ibiza authorities to redevelop the 16-mile square foot site but, now that's expired, the Simon and David Reuben are planning to build "luxury seafront developments", according to the Sunday Times.
Thankfully no clubs will be closed as a result, as Ministry of Sound feared it would have to because of regeneration, but there are worries about the future of Sunset Ashram, a prime spot for watching the sun go down on the island.
