Premiere: The master returns, Laurent Garnier celebrates 10 years of Skryptöm
The Frenchman offers up a nine-minute epic
Laurent Garnier. A name completely synonymous with dance music fans across the globe, a true legend and a man who has shaped the way we listen to electronic music in a club environment.
The Frenchman has been active for over 30 years and during that time he has not only mesmerised dancers worldwide with his electric DJ sets, he's also produced some of the best tracks of all time. 'The Man With The Red Face' say no more.
This may seem like a lot of high praise but if anyone deserves it, it's Garnier and the visionary has just received the French legion of honour which is the equivalent of a knighthood over here in the UK. For services to to electronic music, we salute you.
Aside from recent DJ sets around the world at his favourite spots, Time Warp and Oval Space included, Garnier has been busy producing again and as well as an appearance on Kompakt, he's provided a track for the new 10 years of Skryptöm compilation.
The Parisian label founded by Electric Rescue has acted as a place for all of his favourite techno artists and the upcoming compilation features tracks from Truncate, Inigo Kennedy, Roman Poncet and Maxime Dangles.
We have the exclusive first play of Laurent's track and 'Electric Djjedi Disco Biscuit' is as wild as the title suggests. The nine-minute epic is a classic slice of Garnier, with twists and turns from the off, deep, underlying bass rumbling throughout and a sublime progression that no other man could possibly create.
Bravo to Laurent Garnier and bravo to Skryptöm.
