Premiere: PILO and Dean Grenier build a tense techno bomb with 'Axiom 13'

Arriving soon on PILO's brand new EP on BNR

PILO has had a quiet year spent holed up in the studio, working hard on a project that he's finally ready to unveil.

What's resulted is a dark diving four-track EP called 'Flourishes', a welcomed techno exploration and return to BNR for the Los Angeles-based producer. Off the EP, Mixmag has grabbed hold of 'Axiom 13', a collaboration between PILO and Dean Grenier, a Berlin-based producer who has seen releases out on BNR, Bromance, Omnidisc and his own Sister City imprint.

'Axiom 13' takes the EP to its next levels, wasting no time before bursting into a combined soundscape of grinding layers and an addicting, sharp snare, constructing a perfect arc for the tension that's so sought after in the genre.

"The true genre of techno is the exploration of sound & the opportunity to have the access and freedom to create the most odd combinations without limits," PILO explains about the creation of his EP. "'Flourishes' is process of just letting go and growing, not worrying and stopping my self. Instead of me putting up these walls, I want to break them down and show the world the beauty of techno that I cherish."

'Flourishes' is out digitally and on vinyl May 5 on BNR. Pre-order here.
