Butch gets a makeover on Watergate
Matthias Meyer is a key Watergate artist, famous for focusing on the groove when it comes to creating and interpreting music.
Originally influenced by the sounds of Detroit and Chicago, he released his debut track ‘Reichenbach’ back in 2006 on Hamburg’s Liebe*Detail. But it was 2008 when ‘Tout Va Bien’ came out that the artist’s unique and passionate musical direction was properly defined.
Those traits make him the perfect choice to remix a Butch record, a unique and legendary DJ known for his variety of unpredictable and mind-blowing house and techno.
The DJ and producer from Hamburg transforms Butch’s heavy yet epically euphoric 'Shahrzad' to something more spiritual by adding percussion melodies and organic grooves of swirling pads while still keeping the original essence of the track.
The track is part of Watergate’s summer of ‘Watergate Remixes’, standout tracks from discography remixed by the label’s favourite artists.
