Premiere: LOFT explores head-spinning electronics on ‘funemployed’
Mancunian madness
LOFT is a producer breaking new ground, crafting warped, woozy, transcendent electronic elements into disorientating club cuts.
Debuting last year on Astral Plane Recordings with the invigoratingly abstract ‘Turbulent Dynamics’ EP, the Manchester-based artist’s next release showcases more classification-defying tracks that spiral in unpredictable and compelling directions.
The four-track EP, titled ‘Three Settlements Four Ways’, lands this month via Facta and K-Lone’s Wisdom Teeth outlet, fitting right at home among the Bristol-based imprint’s discography of forward-thinking releases that have come from the likes of Hodge, Duckett and Simo Cell.
Our pick from the EP is ‘funemployed’, an arresting listen that constantly shifts and challenges expectations, traversing from muted bubbling through stuttering noise tangents into sublime shimmering, before falling back into dynamic, metallic rhythms. Listen below.
‘Three Settlements Four Ways’ is out via Wisdom Teeth on November 2, pre-order it via Bandcamp
