Premiere: Jook's sinister 'Juice' is rammed with reverberating low-end bass

Jook goes in real hard with his productions. He approaches them with a potent, no holds barred ethos and the result of that are fearsome, evil-eyed grime cuts.

So far the Brighton producer's picked up support from grime don Spooky for the harrowing 'Lucy' and from Trends for the damagingly clicky 'Pulse J VIP', the latter which came out on vinyl-only label Reloadz in March.

His relationship with wax-only releases continues next month as he links up with Sector 7 Sounds, the label run by Bristol producer Boofy. Lemzly Dale's brutal, synth-shooting 'No Long Talk' is the latest output, accompanied by a typically murky Kahn & Neek remix.

Jook turns fully sinister on 'Juice'. It's dark, it's cutting, there's shattering claps and the low-end bass reverberates like charcoal-skied thunder. It's a soundsystem weapon and one that's bound to get drawn for over and over.

'Juice'/'Behind Schedule' will be released via Sector 7 Sounds on January 15, with a general release due on January 22
