Premiere: Domenic Cappello’s ‘The Intruder’ is surging, sinister techno

The Sub Club mainstay steps up on Nautilus Rising

Domenic Cappello is a figure who is stitched into the fabric of Glasgow’s dance music scene.

He’s been co-helming the celebrated Subculture residency at the city’s Sub Club for over two decades as one half of DJ duo Harri & Domenic, helping establish the nightspot as one of the best rave experiences on the planet.

Next month he’s stepping on the club’s in-house label Nautilus Rising with a debut solo outing under his own name, ‘The Intruder’.

The title-track is a surging and spooky, optimised for dancefloor impact. Arpeggiated synths open proceedings, as eerie chords chime in the background. Over the course of its nearly-eight minute length the intensity ramps up, synths growling menacingly, outer textures getting increasingly frantic. Listen below.
