Premiere: Akito unleashes a psychedelic joyride with 'Spiral Sequence'

The track is from the London artist's forthcoming EP

Akito's discography isn't the longest – he basically releases one EP a year – but it's certainly one of the most vibrant in contemporary club music. The London-based DJ, producer and label boss specialises in fizzy, neon-lit tracks that are powered by the pulse of roughneck house and decorated with the melodrama of grime. High grade quality over quantity, for sure.

Following outings on Trax Couture, the label run by close affiliate Rushmore, and Tight Knit, the imprint home to fellow club kids SYYMSTRESS and Grovestreet, Akito returns to his own stable, Sans Absence. So what have we waited for? The 'Turbo Blues' EP is as energised as expected, all taught kicks and heaving basslines, designed to keep you moving into the dead of night.

We've got the first play of 'Spiral Sequence', which is a walloping, psychedelic joyride if ever we heard one. Get on it.

'Turbo Blues' drops via Sans Absence on April 7
