Popof (Luciano remix)
The don Luciano has remixed French tech-house wonder Popof and the result is big
Popof is the French tech-house flag-bearer who's been on our radar for a long time now. His rolling and bumping beats have been tantalising for nearly 20 years and we've been dancing with him the entire time.
Tracks like 'Toxic Love', 'Shades', 'Mr Orange' and edits of 'Motherfuckin Bass' by DJ Rush and 'Regenerate' by Booka Shade are the fidgety and groove-fuelled bangers that made his name, not to mention his spell-binding releases on Turbo, Cocoon, A.F.U and Cr2.
He's got a new album coming out on Hot Creations and although it may or may not retain the same gnarly edge as his previous tracks, we're sure we'll get more top notch production values on 'Love Somebody'.
The first single from the LP is called 'Words Gone' and features the majestic vocals of Arno Joey. Of course as with any Hot Creations release there are a stellar set of edits to accompany the title track and although Jamie Jones and Marc Houle have worked their magic, it's the Luciano remix we're really feeling.
The Cadenza kingpin has remixed the track with the Ibiza terraces firmly in mind. It's got some slick percussion, beautifully echoed vocals and a tribal feel that will have you rolling those shoulders in no time. Check it.
'Love Somebody' by Popof will be released on June 29 via Hot Creations
