Police issue a warning for yellow octopus ecstasy pills
Police in south Wales say the pills can cause “serious health issues”
A warning has been issued by police about dangerous ecstasy pills in the shape of a yellow octopus circulating in the south Wales area.
The warning says the pills can cause “serious health issues” and any person who comes across any of the tablets is urged to call 101 to report it.
A South Wales Police spokesman said: “From time to time, as in this case, we issue bulletins to licensees to provide them with information about certain drugs that may be circulating.
“We would always appeal to anyone who is considering taking drugs – even those who are regular users and believe they know what they are taking – to think twice about doing so.
“Anyone who believes they may have had an adverse reaction, or anyone who falls ill as the result of taking drugs, should seek medical attention as a matter of urgency."
Luke Ogden, manager of the DAN 24/7 Wales Drug and Alcohol Helpline said: “If anyone is tempted to to take ecstasy or any other drug that’s available to them I would advise them to look up the information first so they understand what exactly it is they’re taking and what they might expect from it.”
