Police issue warning about ‘Snapchat’ pills

Two young women were hospitalised after taking the yellow tablets

West Yorkshire Police have issued a warning about dangerous pills circulating in the region. They are yellow rectangles and bear the logo of social media app Snapchat.

The hospitalised schoolchildren are aged 12 and 13, and now in a stable condition. A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on drug-related offences, reports the Mirror.

WYP tweeted: “We want to remind the public about the dangers of drugs. Drugs are often given catchy names to appeal to young people. We had an incident involving 2 females in hospital after taking ‘Snapchat pills‘. Any person offered drugs refuse & report via 101 or crime stoppers 0800555111.”

A warning about blue ‘Punisher’ pills was also issued recently, after two people died from taking them at Portsmouth’s Mutiny Festival last month.
