Two men were stabbed during a drum ‘n’ bass event at Luna Springs on Saturday
A police investigation has been launched after two men were stabbed at Birmingham music venue Luna Springs over the weekend.
The incident occurred just before 7:PM on Saturday, May 9, during a day party from drum ‘n’ bass promoters Cru2, which was taking place at the Lower Trinity Street venue in Digbeth.
Police were called to the venue after receiving reports that multiple stabbings had occurred. Two men reportedly suffered stab wounds and were rushed to hospital.
According to West Midlands Police, neither of the victims suffered life-threatening wounds. Both men were treated for injuries and later discharged.
The venue was reportedly busy at the time of the incident, but was quickly evacuated with screens behind the DJ booth showing a message that read: "There has been an incident, can everyone please bear with us."
An investigation into the incident has now been launched. Police are urging anyone with information or phone footage from the event to come forward.
Birmingham Live reports that a man in his 40s was arrested by police following the event, while the venue itself is working with authorities "during this ongoing investigation".
In a statement sent to Birmingham Live, a spokesperson for Luna Springs said: "The safety and wellbeing of all our guests and staff remains our top priority."
Event promoters Cru2 also shared a statement on social media, writing (via BBC News): "Due to unforeseen circumstances, the afterparty for Cru2: The Birmingham Shutdown has been cancelled. All ticket holders for the main event and afterparty will be contacted on Monday."
