Planet Mu boss delivers 20th anniversary broadcast on Radio One
Mike Paradinas showcases some of the most iconic tracks in the label's 20-year history
Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Planet Mu has become synonymous with the alternative UK electronic scene.
Founded as a subsidiary of Virgin Records in 1995, the London-based label went independent in 1998 and hasn't looked back since. With releases by the likes of Machinedrum, DJ Nate and Boxcutter, the label has been an exponent of musical expression and diversity since its inception.
Radio 1 host Huw Stephens invited Label founder and boss Mike Paradinas to curate part of his show last night to help celebrate the anniversary. Paradinas played a selection of iconic tracks from throughout the label's history, including cuts by footstep pioneers Jlin and RP Boo and grime from Mr. Mitch.
