Pharrell to compose a symphonic dance performance
A multi-medium re-imagining of 'Rules of The Game'
This coming Halloween, Pharrell presents a tremendous, avant-garde performance at New York City's Guggenheim on October 31.
The piece is Pharrell's interpretation on Luigi Pirandello's 1918 The Rules of The Game, a tale of emotional disparity, betrayal, revenge and psychological disintegration.
The show will incorporate dance, visual art and music, which will be composed by Pharrell, performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The accompanying dance will be choreographed by Jonah Bokaer.
Visual elements will be designed by NYC-based surrealist artist Daniel Arsham, whose most recent Welcome To The Future film starring James Franco received rave reviews as an abstract conceptual piece about humanity.
A clear shift from Pharrell's usual pop-driven work, the musical savant has been working with Arsham and Bokaer over the past two years to forge the presentation.
Pharrell's Rules of The Game will be performed at the Peter B. Lewis Theater in NYC's Guggenheim Museum.
