Paula Temple to quit touring in 2025 citing burnout and "strong urge to change pace"
In an Instagram post, Temple explained that she’ll move solely into production next year
UK techno stalwart Paula Temple has announced that she will quit touring in 2025, citing burnout and a “strong urge to change pace”.
In a statement published on Instagram yesterday, November 20, Paula explained that while the past 11 years have been a “dream come true”, she’s now set to retire from touring for the "foreseeable future”.
“I feel a strong urge to change pace, get a dog and focus solely on making music,” she explained. “There is a lot of creativity I have yet to explore, and I will be evolving away from hard techno.”

Paula noted that she’s experienced burnout, and feels “incompatible” with the direction hard techno is heading with "a world of influencer performers”.
“Honestly, I do not know what direction my music will take in the future, but I know I have hardly scratched the surface of what I can make and will trust my pure devotion to the creative process.”
After 11 years working as a touring DJ, Paula announced that she has just 10 shows left before retiring. Her final show in Europe will take place on New Year’s Eve at Amsterdam’s Free Your Mind Festival in a back to back with SNTS.

In January, she’ll play New York and Chicago for the first time before heading to Colombia’s Bogotá for one final show in February, then stopping for good to "reset".
Paula thanked fans, her musical inspirations, and the promoters and labels she’s worked closely with over the years, including R&S Records and Gegen.
“I want to thank everyone who has enjoyed my music and sets,” she wrote. “I am here now because of you and because of a continuously inspiring scene.”
