Paul Oakenfold will be the first DJ ever to play at Stonehenge

A date in September is set to be announced

Paul Oakenfold will make history in September as he becomes the first ever DJ to play at UNESCO World Heritage site Stonehenge.

Only 50 people will be there to watch the man part-responsible for kickstarting the Summer Of Love, but his performance will be recorded and later made available as 'Live At Stonehenge'.

On the gig, Oakenfold said: "I am so lucky to be able to share my music from such an iconic site,” said Oakenfold. “The energy there will be like nowhere else on earth, and this will be reflected in my music and performance.

“Despite having performed at incredible events and locations all across the globe, sunset at Stonehenge will be the most magical.”

All funds raised from the Universe-organised show will go to English Heritage, a charity that preserves over 400 historic sites.
