The Lab New York is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the initmate bar next to our Brooklyn office. This Friday in The Lab, we welcome Oceanvs Orientalis and Lum.
This week we welcome the talented Oceanvs Orientalis (Live) [Magic Movement] and LUM [Rebellion]. Fresh off performances at Maya Hearts and Day Zero in Tulum, Mexico, these talented newcomers are taking the scene by storm with their fresh take on electronic music that consists of a plethora of world music influences laid upon a bed of slowly percolating grooves, creating a sound that is deep, intelligent and altogether infectious while remaining perfectly danceable.
Lum's most recent EP 'Urpillay' was released on Crosstown Rebels' sister label Rebellion and Oceanvs Orientalis has a forthcoming full length album coming this summer.
