Nyko - 7/10

This massive festival house track is from Nyko, a new-comer we'll be seeing more of in the future, and it's on Chase And Status's own MTA Recordings.

Starting upbeat then kicking in with a huge, hypnotic, stuttering, synth stab, this has a nod to rave but also to bass in the keyboard sounds it uses – though it uses them to create its own hybrid sound. Nyko is only 20 years old, and this is a good thing with his fresh, new approach in his raw, bass- driven, underground house.

The dominant rave stab is underpinned by the huge bass snarl and snare build-ups and pads which breeze in and out at all the right places to make this a festival or big-room anthem. We'll be watching Nyko's career with interest.
