NY police commander allegedly told officers to shoot 50 Cent "on sight"

The commander under investigation has filed a complaint against 50 Cent for aggravated harassment

New York Police DepartmentNew York Police Department commander Deputy Inspector Emanuel Gonzalez is under investigation for allegations that he issued a command to shoot 50 Cent “on sight” during a station roll call.

NYPD Sergeant Jessica McRorie confirmed to CNN that the force is investigating the incident, which was not recorded and that reports say Gonzalez attempted to pass off as a joke.

50 Cent responded to the reports on Instagram, writing: “This guy Emanuel Gonzales is a dirty cop abusing his POWER. The sad part is this man still has a badge and a gun. #NYnotSafe #TheGangstagotabadge

He added on Twitter: “Keep in mind there are some good people working in Law Enforcement. Like the officers that reported what he said to them. Emanuel Gonzalez is Gangsta with a badge.”

Roy Richter, president of the NYPD Captains Endowment Association, stated the allegations are "completely false” and blamed 50 Cent for putting “the safety of the Inspector and his family in jeopardy” for allegedly posting a threatening tweet towards the office which has since been deleted.

Sgt. McRories confirmed that the NYPD has also filed a formal complaint against 50 Cent for aggravated harassment towards DI Gonzalez.
