North Carolina's Moogfest unveils three profound themes for 2017
Transhumanism, Techno-shamanism and Protest
The annual festival celebrating the seminal work of Dr. Robert Moog, Moogfest, has just announced its themes for 2017.
The three-day event, which takes place in North Carolina on May 18 through 21, is a premier showcase of music, technology, art and futurism. Highly regarded as intellectual and cutting edge, this year's Moogfest will be centered primarily around Transhumanism, Techno-shamanism and Protest.
Transhumanism focuses on the ethical, social and aesthetic challenges that come with the integration of technology and biology, Techno-shamanism raises conversation on the spiritual and conscious effects of music on the human mind and energy and Protest will explore how artists, activists and innovators can forge societal movement and reform through music and science.
Other motifs include The Future of Creativity, Hacking Systems, Instrument Design, The Joyful Noise of STEAM, Sci-Fi Wishes and Utopian Dreams and Spatial Sound.
Special presentations, performances, workshops and installations will have names like Simian Mobile Disco, S U R V I V E, Nona Hendryx, Robert Rich, Jas Shaw and many more.
