Nines charged with drug-related offences following police operation
The rapper was arrested and faces charges including conspiracy to supply cocaine
Nines has been charged with four drug-related offences.
The rapper was arrested on Thursday, June 3, and faces charges that include conspiracy to supply cocaine.
He was arrested alongside another man, 35-year-old Jason Thompson, following searches carried out by police at addresses in London and Hertfordshire.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: “Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have charged two men after a proactive operation to tackle the supply of drugs.”
The force also stated that Nines, real name Courtney Freckleton, was due to appear in Willesden Magistrate’s Court yesterday, June 4.
The full set of charges listed by the Met are: conspiracy to import a controlled Class B drug with intent to evade a prohibition, conspiracy to supply a Class A controlled drug (cocaine), conspiracy to supply a Class B controlled drug (cannabis) and conspiracy to conceal, disguise, convert, transfer or remove criminal property.
Nines was nominated for five MOBO Awards last year, the most of any artist, following the release of his latest album 'Crabs In A Bucket' via XL. He won the Album of the Year and Best Hip Hop Act prizes.
