NIKS announces debut EP ‘Milieau’
The four-tracker from the B.A.D founder is set to land on Or:la’s Céad label this month
NIKS has announced her debut EP ‘Milieau’, set for release on May 17 via Or;la’s Céad imprint.
The co-founder of Black Artist Database (B.A.D.) has announced the EP alongside her electric new club single ‘V2B’.
Speaking on the single’s release, NIKS has described it as, “The opener for the peak time club, 'V2B' creates a sense of urgency with its dynamism.”

She continues, “Violins, speedy cowbells, drums, vocals, an alarm and a tingly bass, all work together to build this immediate and non-stop feeling, with synths in the 2nd half to bring a floaty feel.”
The EP is set to take the listener through different spaces associated by NIKS with her electronic predecessors and inspirations, with the first track’s being “peak time club”.
The South East London-born artist created Black Artist Database (B.A.D.) on June 4 2020, wanting a platform to champion Black voices in the music scene. In 2023 NIKS launched the B.A.D. label to accompany the platform and works as the manager as well as A&R of the label.

The release marks the next chapter for NIKS in the world of producing, following her first single ‘Badness, Can’t Work’ which was the label’s debut release, and her two subsequently self-released singles ‘Riding Senses’ and ‘Mimi’s Woo’ via London-based Earful of Wax.
