New venue from team behind The Glove That Fits opens in London, Gloves Off

The Hackney-based open air venue offers free entry and is being described as an "outdoor sanctuary"

A brand new venue from the team behind The Glove That Fits has opened up in east London, Gloves Off.

The new “open-air offering” opened for the first time on Saturday, May 6, just next door to its sister venue The Glove That Fits in Hackney. The space is also set up by one of the co-founders of east London venue FOLD.

Gloves Off offers free entry, and is said to be both “musically and physically” connected to The Glove That Fits providing a space for “outdoor sanctuary”.

“As summer blooms, we introduce a bright new chapter for The Glove That Fits, as our new open air venue 'Gloves Off' launches this week,” the venue’s team posted on Instagram last weekend.

The official launch went ahead over the weekend with a takeover from London queer party Anal House Meltdown, trialling the venue’s brand new Funktion-One soundsystem.

On top of its continued programme throughout summer focusing on ambient, downtempo, and experimental music, the open-air space will also offer food and cocktails with an “expanded menu”.
