Draw sounds with this new synthesiser

The 40-year-old design finally sees the light of day

More than 40 years on, the groundbreaking designs of electronic music pioneer Daphne Oram have finally come to fruition.

The Mini Oramics synthesizer is unique in its ability to create sounds visually by drawing a series of lines and dots on to blank movie camera film stock and clear glass slides.

It begs the question: what would music sound like now had this machine been in use since it’s inception?

Head over to BBC for the full run down and watch it in action.
