New South Wales Premier expected to support later lockouts

But only half an hour

New South Wales Premier Mike Baird has been tipped to support the Callinan Review's recommendation for Sydney's lockouts to be pushed back by half an hour.

The Daily Telegraph reports Baird is expected to advise his senior ministers the 1.30am lockout should be replaced by a 2am lockout and live music venues be allowed to serve alcohol half an hour later than the current 3am in central Sydney.

Venues with DJs are expected to considered "live entertainment", according to the paper.

But Keep Sydney Open's Tyson Koh has said such a small change would not help small businesses and the music scene.

"If the reports are true, then the Premier has just made his time in office much more difficult because our followers are growing and Keep Sydney Open isn't going anywhere anytime soon," he posted to Facebook.

The anti-lockouts group held another 10,000 person strong rally at the weekend.
