New Order set to headline Barcelona and Madrid’s Primavera Sound 2023
They’ll go up alongside previously announced headliners including Depeche Mode and Rosalía
Salford legends New Order are back, and they’re set to head out to Barcelona and Madrid this summer for Primavera Sound’s 2023 edition.
Just a few months since they embarked on a comeback tour across North America with the Pet Shop Boys, New Order will head back to Europe this summer where they’ll perform in both Barcelona and Madrid across a double weekender.
Primavera Sound 2023 takes place this year from May 29 - June 1 for the first time in two cities. This year, the events will go ahead in Barcelona’s Parc del Fòrum, and Madrid’s Ciudad del Rock.

New Order will join previously announced headliners Depeche Mode, Calvin Harris, Rosalía, Kendrick Lamar, Halsey, and Blur at the top of the bill across both weekends.
A smaller free access warm-up event will also take place in both cities the day before each weekender, featuring Pet Shop Boys as the headline act.
200 acts will play across both cities, which share the same line-up “620 kilometers apart”, the festival previously announced. “In both cities, Primavera Sound will maintain its identity as an urban festival with the Primavera a la Ciutat programme for the rest of the week,” they said in a statement.

“Also, in both Barcelona and Madrid, this programme will be integrated into the cultural spaces of each venue with different musical activities before the main days.
“The landing in Madrid is just the latest chapter in our long and close relationship with the city, and also the first for everything to come: for communication and connections, for the history of a Primavera Sound that in 2023 will start in Barcelona and end in Madrid that can only benefit our audience. Double site - double excitement.”
