New Blade Runner 2049 trailer unveils more of Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto

A proper trailer for the long-awaited sci-fi sequel

Warner Bros. has shared a new trailer for Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to Ridley Scott’s groundbreaking sci-fi classic Blade Runner from 1982.

A short teaser trailer for Blade Runner 2049 was already unveiled at the tail end of 2016, stirring up buzz for the long-awaited sequel. Little was known about the project, other than the cast and synopsis, “a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos”.

In the new trailer, viewers are provided with a more in-depth look at the film’s characters, including Ryan Gosling in the lead role of Officer K, Jared Leto as a yet to be named creepy scientist, the order-obsessed Robin Wright, newcomer Ana de Armas as co-star and Harrison Ford reprising his role as Deckard.

Judging by the official trailer, Director Denis Villeneuve, whose film Arrival was nominated for an Oscar in 2016, did everything he could to bring the iconic world of Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner back to life. Only time will tell whether or not die-hard fans approve.
