MUTEK makes its first expansion to the US with a San Francisco edition
Northern California will be the first US city to host the celebrated event
Electronic and experimental festival champion MUTEK, which originated in Montreal, is beloved within the dance music community. Already, the event has expanded from its Canadian base to Mexico City, Tokyo and Buenos Aires, but had yet to land in the United States.
MUTEK will soon be changing that, though, with the appearance of teasers that read 'MUTEK San Francisco' which first appeared in graffiti form in the streets of the Californian city.
A MUTEK representative confirmed that the San Francisco edition is, in fact, a reality in the works set to take place in the spring of 2018. More details will be arriving later this year.
MUTEK recently announced its decision to delay the upcoming Mexico City edition to November following the fatal 7.1 earthquake that rocked the city several weeks ago. The event has also called to its fans and attendees to donate to aid victims of the earthquake.
